This video about two guys who did a three day ‘hell week’. Is a really intense training navy Seals have to pass through to enter the military.
This quote from the video really got stuck with me:
‘It does not matter how fit you are, it’s a choice’

Thoughts and realizations:
When I lose the touch of my breath, when I let my mind go wherever it wants, I catch myself dreaming, thinking about something pleasurable. Sometimes, I catch myself on the middle of a hypothetical dream, a conversation with my future wife, the reaction of friends when I show them the things I have been working on, the next meal I am going to have. Only great expectations.
But the weird part is that these thoughts fill me with pleasurable sensations, so I assume the brain releases some dopamine when thinking about them.
It is pleasurable to think about pleasurable things. So, you can get addicted to it, I know I am.
And it is hard to comeback to the breath, these thoughts pull me down, they are obviously more pleasing than my own breath, my brain wants more.
It is obvious that these thoughts are destructive, they not only make me unconscious of the present moment, but they also fill me with desire. And desire unquestionably makes me suffer right now.
Why would I choose to suffer now for something that is still to happened or that will probably never happen? It´s a waist of life energy.

Life is a marathon, not a speed run.
Go easy on yourself. You need to go slowly and consistently.
People that start fast will outrun you on the beginning, but they will burnout fast and you will eventually catch up and pass them.
And your consistency will give you so much strength. The sprinters are afraid of losing, so they give everything they have, but eventually crash, their life will be filled of ups and downs. You will maintain your slow pace and never stop, no matter what, and your life will be filled with peace.
Go through life like you are running a marathon, go on your own pace and never stop.

Constant meditation is the key.
The practice of meditation should not be limited to the moments you sit to meditate, you should always try to be aware of every moment.
So, when you get up from your meditation, try to maintain that awareness for as long as possible, and every time you remember it, come back to it.
Don´t turn your practice into a routine, meditation is not just a tool to ease the mind, it’s a way of life. So, embrace it in every moment.
Don’t just practice sometimes, live it.
